18, Oshkosh Advance-Titan, May 8, 1986Titan tracksters thirdBY STACY BOUPLON A-T reporterThe UW-Oshkosh men’s track team accumulated a total of 83 points to secure third place in the Wisconsin State University Conference Championships.Pole vaulter Steve Hable won the event despite the uncooperativeness of mother nature. “The pole vaulters all struggled,” Coach Bruce Coleman said. “The favorite didn’t even make a height. They had a tough crosswind but Steve got the job done.”Kris Williams placed third overall in the decathlon with a cumulative point total of 5,136. He placed first in the discus; second in the pole vault; third in the javelin; fourth in the 100 meter dash, long jump and shot put; fifth in the 400 meter dash and 1500 meter run; and sixth in the high jump and 110 meter high hurdles.Both UW-0 relay teams came through. The mile relay team of Todd Resler, Chuck Otte, AI Felice and Max Ham placed first in 3:21.7.The 400 meter relay placed second, with the efforts of^hawn Brehmer, Tom Hendricks, Jeff Andres and Bryan Vail.“Bryan Vail was put in at anchor for the 400 meter relay in Jon Jensen’s place,” Coleman said. “Jensen pulled a muscle Friday.”Brehmer placed fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.3 seconds.Hendricks placed fifth in the 200 meter dash and third in the 400 meter run.
