Sieve Fitez singled with one out. After another out, Charley Poulson was safe on an error. Ron Stahl singled Fitez home, Mike Donaldson’s single sent Poulson across and Bob Kessler singled to score Stahl.New Oxford rallied for two runs in the bottom of the final inning. Tom Miller was safe on an error. Rick Shaffer singled and Greg Ernst walked to load the bases. John Strausbaugh followed with a single to score Miller and Shaffer.Fairfield, 4-4 for the season, finishes its campaign against Bigierville at Fairfield Tuesday. Stahl, rf.......... 3Rebert, rf .......... 1Poulson, cf ......... 2Sanders, If .......... 0h e3 1 3 0 2 1 0 0 0 0Two big innings, the first and fourth, gave the Bigierville High Canners an easy 13-2 victory over Gettysburg High in a county baseball league game Thursday afternoon at Bigler-ville.Bigierville, levelling its league record at 4-4 and pulling its overall mark to 5-6, scored six times in the opening frame and then tallied seven in the fourth.Coach Hibbs* outfit tabbed Tom Fiscel for hits by Tom Baltzley, the winning hurler, Mike McGlaughiin and Jerry Chronister, and combined them with four walks and an error for the six runs in the first.In the fourth inning the Canners put together three walks, hits by Milton Knouse, Dan Heller, Bill Jacoby and Jerry Chronister, an error, and a sac rifice for their seven tallies. Jim Williams replaced Fiscel on the mound for Gettysburg to finally retire the side and then Fiscel returned to his pitching chores for the final two innings. WARRIORS SCORE Gettysburg notched a run in the second on four hits, sandwiching two force outs. The hits were by Steve Williams, Barry Lobinger, Larry Johnson and Sam Leedy, Johnson scoring.The other run in the seventh resulted from an error which saved Leedy, plus singles by Fiscel and Jeff Chamberlain.Gettysburg, 2-8 overall and 1-8 in the league, will entertain newly-crowned league titlist, Littlestown, Tuesday.
