Once again, senior southpaw Murray Melton went the distance to register his fifth victory of the season against no setbacks.Bob Koehler, the other Lion starter, played left field for the first time and contributed two base hits to the Lion cause. It was a restrained comeback victory for the home forces. Glen Cashion placed the Bruins a run ahead in the opening stanza by sending one of Melton’s early tosses into the Harlem River.A single by Bohaboy and back-to-back doubles by Savini and third baseman John O’Brien enabled the home forces to regain the lead, 2-1, in the second inning. The score was advanced to 5-1 in the fourth inning when the same men doubled and singled. The strong Lion bats proved decisively that the team would be adequately prepared for today’s important rescheduled contest against the defending champion Army at Baker Field. Koehler, the powerful junior moundsman, rs slated to match the serves of smallish Bob Kewley. Last year, Kewley set Columbia down with little difficulty at the Point. However, he will perform today after only a short rest.tied Permissionw*rt rk
