Eduardo Monastery, might prove to be one of the most valuable players for the Alamance Indians before the season is over. A native of Valencia, Venezuela, Monasterio is one of two veterans on the Alamance squad. Last year, he hit 304 for his hometown Valencia club in South American pro baseball. Now that Skipper May has shifted the speedy youngster to third base, he’s beginning to show his worth. He’s hitting 278 at the moment Eduardo, quietest player on the Indians’ squad, is 25 years old, stands 5-9 and weighs 177 pounds. He is married and the father of one child.
