“PEI” BROWN WINS FROM BALTIMORE MANSPECTACULAR WRESTLING MATCH PLEASED RIG CROWD AT LYRIC LAST MIGHT.Cyclone’ Burns of Baltimore came all the way to Brown wood to meet al etter man, and goes back to AtlanticCity for his next ■wrestling matchwith the memory of a clear-cut defeat at the hands of Pet” Brown, the Taylor contractor who ha ; as yet metno superior on the mat. Broun threwBurns twice last night at the Lyrictheatre in a total of forty-eight minutes, and proved himself the better man throughout the match., Brown’s first fall came in 20 1-2minutes, after a terrific strugglewhich repeatedly took the wrestlersoff the mat. Several times Burnsfound himself in a very embarrassingsituation, but by his skill was ableto extricate himseif. Brown finallypinned him to the mat while hisheels were in the air and the Baltimore wrestler was almost standing onhis head. The second fall came withwhat the wrestlers term a cradle hold from which it is practically impossible to break loose and which enableslhe successful wrestler to slowlyforce his antagonist’s shoulders down t to the mat. Nineteen minutes of fast! and furious work was required for the*second fall.Tin crowd which gathered at the}I i last night was openly in sympathy with Brown, although Burns Iwas rearedly cheered when he ex-1 hibitcd a splendid skill and daring.|His simple statement at the end of!the bout that he had been beaten fair!and square by a better man was loudly cheered. Zurns, while weighingthree or four pounds more than JBrown, and having probably as much!skill as the Taylor champion, apparently lacked the physical strengthto handle his adversary. Brown’s coolness and carefulness was notedthroughout the engagement. He eas-ily extricated himself from the various holds which the easterner ajktempted, and only once YV u S her*al danger of being thrown.Norman Boyctt officiated as refereeduring the match, and Hub Harrell held the watch.
