Grubbs Is TeenIWinner In Mobil Jaycee ContestRobert Grubbs of Ft. Worth, son of W M. Grubbs of Hamilton, won the “Top Teen-age Driver’’ trophy at the Hamilton Jaycees’ first Mobil Economy Run here May 3. He drove a 1964 Chevrolet and recorded 20.18 miles per gallon for the top score among teen-aged drivers.Cars were classified into four categories according to the size (cubic inches of displacement in cylinders) of the motor. The classes were: Class 1: 144 to 215 cu. in.. Class 2: 216 to 286 cu. in., Class 3: 287 to 357, Class 4: 358 inches and more.A trophy was awarded to the driver with the best miles-per-gallon in each class. An additional trophy was provided for the top teen-aged driver and the top female driver. Each of the last two trophy winners Sunday were also winners in one of the four classes, although they weren't required to be. Under the rules of the contest, a teen-aged girl could possibly have won three trophies.Other winners were Lola V Giese in Claslt; 1. driving a 1957 Ford with 23.65 miles per gallon. Harvey L. Dodson in Class 2 driving a 1959 Chevrolet with 25.4 mpg, and Joyce Lee in Class 4 driving a 1963 Ford with 18.9 mpg.
