SIMMS MAY FIGHT BRITT.Louisville, Ky., May 7.—Although not officially announced, yet It is not unlikely that Jimmy Hrltt, the California wonder, will he aeen in the ringbefore many months at the nrenn ofthe Southern Athletic Club In l»uls-vllie. Negotiations have been opened for a ninteh between Hrltt and Art Simms, the clever Akron lightweight, to take place within six weeks.Simms had a talk with Hob Gray, of the Southern Club, last Saturday night, and Gray favored a match between the two men. Simms said he was ready at any time, and word was sent to Hrltt, asking what he thought of the proposition. He replied that he would take Simms on after his bout with Jack O'Keefe.If matched Hrltt will bo sent to Cincinnati to train, and as this will he the Californian’s first appearance in this part of the country, the contest will no doubt prove a record-breaker for Louisville.
