SUNDAY MORNING, MAY 5,1946»Rupert Relay Mark No. 1WeekWith a few exceptions, the best high school track athletes in Idaho performed in two Magic Valley cinder meets—the Big Seven at Rupert and the Big Six at Twin Palls—during the week-end but it was left up to Coach George Hay’s 880-yard relay quartet to register the top performance.The Rupert team of Snapp, Llewellyn, Harvey Conlin and Bllderbach ran the half mile in 1 ;34.5, the fastest time in that event in a number of years and making the foursome the favorite to take the state championship two weeks hence.Seven records were broken in the Big Seven meet, while four fell by the wayside and a fifth was tied in the Big Six classic.Rupert easily won the Big Seven title with 62 6/6 points followed by Burley with 29, Gooding, 19; Jerome, 16; Oakley, 14 2/3; Buhl, 13 and Filer, 10.Scoring in all but two of the 15 events but gaining only three firsts to four for Twin Palls and Nampa, the Boise Braves won the Big Six championship, registering 45 M points.
