The Canandaigua playeis were * touted” to be very strong on the diamond but they were eisy for the Bradford club.The Anbum team defeated Bradford yesterday, n to 10.Olean is already puffed up with pride over its ball team Monday afternoon the Oleanball tossers defeated the Auburn team by a 1score ol 3 to 2, and, according to the story of the game furnished by the Times, the Olean players should be holding do vn positions in ( the National league instead of chasing a ball over the Olean diamond. Morrissey, the slai pitcher of the Olean team, held the Auburn * club down to three safe hits and Northwang, catcher, and Campbell, shortstop, played a faultless game. The Tribune, commenting on the game, says: “The Meadville ball team yesterday crossed bats with the Page Fence Qiants, the strongest colored tfeara- in America. Although the diamond was a trifle slow and, owing to the rain, the crowd was not large, the game did not lack in interest. The game was full of brilliant work on the part of the visitors, and their coaching was highly amusing.The Auburn team play \ all tomorrow £hd Saturday at the Recreation grounds. Don’t miss them.
