CADETS STILL HOLD 2 COUNTY TRACK RECORDSThe Alton Evening Telegraph recently printed the names of those who still hold track records in Madison County. Two cadets have records that have not been broken yet:Broad jump—Morgan “Buzz” Taylor, 22 ft., 3V2 in., set in 1949.220 Dash—Joe Dugan, 0:22.5, set in 1947. His record has been tied by Robertson of Roxana in 1964.Both Taylor and Dugan were two ofthe greatest athletes ever to attend Western. Both were in the backfield of the undefeated championship football team of 1947 which won nine games.
