Michoacan wins Cinco de Mayo tournamentMILTON-FREEWATER -Shockman Field was the site of the 11th Annual Cinco de Mayo Soccer Tournament, which took place Saturday af temoon.After an opening-round win over four-time defending champion Avantes, the Walla Wallan team Michoacan beat D-Mexico of Pasco 4-2 to win the championship game in the eight team tournament. Team Spokane took third place as another Walla Walla team, Fantasmas, was fourth.Along with the team awards, individual honors were given. Michoacan’s Panfilo Con-traras was handed the tournament’s Most-Valuable-Player Award. Teammate Mauricio El Tieso Gomez garnered the High-Scorer Award with his six goals. Marcos Garcia of D-Mexico was named the Outstanding Goalkeeper.
