While many teams havealready been organized, there is still time for othersto join, just as Lisa Long, Tina Heynolds, Maria Con-tratto and Annette Prigmore have done.Those young ladies who are practicing softball around Bountiful just may be a part of the Bonnett Bail program.BONNETT BALL is a non-profit Utah Corporation and it provides athletic competition for girls between theagssof 9-18.Several meetings have been held in order to organize softball for the girls and a total of twenty-two teams have been formed.SIXTEEN teams have been formed in the minor league. These are girls 9-12 years. Eight teams are located north of Center Street and eight teams south of Center. •The president of the North is Drew Long and Duane Con-tratto is president of the South.*}The games will be played on Tuesday and Friday evenings at Meadowbrook and Washingjon Schools and the league will run during May and June. All-star competi-will be in July.IT IS not too late to register to play softball this summer but the time isquickly running out on Bonnett Ball because the league will be starting soon.11 is very easy to register! I f you want to play ball and you live north of Center Street, call Drew Long at 295-1819.IF YOU live south of Center Street call Duane Contralto at 295-5630. If you can't reach one or the other, you may call Bob Vandegrift at 295-8172 regardless of where you live.You will be assigned to a team and you will begin playingball. All girls will play in every game.JTHE MAJORS are girls 13-15 years and a total of six teams are being formed this year. Plans at this time call for games to be played on Monday and Wednesday evening;.The Majors have been organized for just a few days and there is still room for only about forty more players, if you are between 13-15 years, and you livenorth of 500 South, call Mrs. Dorothy Severin at 295-5046,IF YOU live South of 500 South, call Mrs. Lorraine Prigmore at 292-1072. If you can't reach one or the other, you may call Bob Vandegrift 292-8172.The girls will ail wear colorful uniforms. Even colored softballs will be used during some of the games. The registration fee does not nearly pay for all the costs incidental to the program. Glade, a native of Fairview and graduate of North SanpeteHigh School, has been the lead tenor for the Zurich Opera Company for the past fifteen years. He has performed in almost every opera house in the world and has just made his triumphant debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.managers and coaches. There is a need for some coaches, arbiters, umpires, etc.Approximately 600 girls played Bonnett Ball in Sait Lake County last year. It is planned for approximately ,300 to 325 girls to play Bonnett Ball in the Bountiful area with another 1,000 in Salt Lake County.BONNETT Bali is a competitive program and it culminates during the State tournament, with the state winner going into national competition.
