Jcffersou City, Mo., March 29.— 1 Governor Hyde yesterday approv* ^ ed appropriation bills carving $6,- 5 959,492. of which $6,262,892 rocs ! to educational institutions. The 1 largest approprlaiton, $2,651,000, J goes to the State University. The ' various state teachers colleges | are apportioned money as follows: Kirksville $628,125; Warrensburg $525,500; Cape Girardeau, $459.-242: Springfield, $576,475, andMaryville. $459,850.The State School of Mines and Metal urgy at Rolla receives a total of $523,000. and Lincoln In*I stitute. at Jefferson City, receives $329,500. There is a bill yet on the governor’s desk appropriating $500,000 foy converting Lincoln ; Institute into a state university,, to lie known as Lincoln University , for the education of the negroes. Appropriation bills for other' purposes approved by the govern* or were: For department of finance, $195,000; department of public welfare, $275,400; department of labor.$226,200.
