Former Muscatine Community College wrestling Coach John Borszcz has been named as Region XII wrestling coach ot the year by the National Junior College Athletic Association at Cuyahoga Community College in Parma.. Ohio.Borszcz has had exceptional coaching success, including three years as head men. tor at Muscatine Community College. He has been in coaching for six years on the high school and junior college levels and has a sparkling 101-9 record.The Maple Heights High School graduate was an Ohio state champion and iiad a brilliant 43-2 career record. He went on to star at Wyoming University where he lettered three years and was unbeaten in his senior year.After obtaining his bachelor and master degrees in physical education at Wyoming, Borszcz went to Davis County High School of Bloomfield, Iowa, to become he 2d- coach. He was a combination junior high-junior varsity-varsity mentor there and in two years his teams lost just one match in 50 outings.He then stepped in the coaching position at MCC and became not only coach, but also athletic director during his stay. His teams racked up an overall 33-7 record and finished three straight years up high in the national finals. One year after Borszcz resigned his post at MCC the sport was dropped. Borszcz did not take right over as wrestling coach at Cuyahoga, serving as an understudy beforegaining the head job the past season.His club set several firsts in compiling an impressive 13-1 mark.
