Interest in Yanger-McPadden Bout.Detroit, Mich.. March 27.—Fight followers in Detroit and vicinity areon edge in anticipation of the contest between Benny Yanger, the undefeated Chicago featherweight* and Hugh McPadden, of Brooklyn, which is to be decided tonight before the Metropolitan Athletic club. The articles of agreement call for a ten-round go at 127 pounds. The match is regarded as one of the most important ever pulled off in this city. Yanger haslong been looked upon as in'line forchampionship honors, while Me Pad-den’s ring performances during the last year have proved him to be a fighter of more than ordinary cleverness. There is an undoubted feeling of confidence iu the McPadden camp as is shown by the declarations made today by McPadden himself: I feelconvinced I can beat Yanger,” says the little Brooklyn fighter. I have de feated men who have more than held their own with Yanger, and i have seen him fight several times and know his style perfectly. JThe fact that the bout is clean breaks will favor me a little, as it will prevent infighting, atwhich Yanger has always been very Strong.” .
