Bayou DeSiard Golf Course Will Be Expanded To 18-Hole Layout *-The Bayou DeSiard Country,Club has retained the services ofPerry Maxwell, nationally known golf course architect of Tulsa.Okla . to design a new 18-hole golfcourse for the recently constructed Country Club here It was announced yesterday.Maxwell arrived in Mornoe Fri- j day and has already started work | on the project.The present nine-hole course will ha extended by the addition of another nine holes, giving the club a full length championship 18-hole Icourse. When completed, this willbe the only 18 hole golf layout in j northeast Louisiana.Maxwell has built 70 golf courses in the last 25 years, among which are included many of the coun-1 try's best known courses, such as Colonial Golf Club at Fort Worth, ;Tex.; Grand Hotel course at Paint J Clear, Ala.; University of Okla-) homa layout at Norman. Okla.;Nichols Hills at Oklahoma City, and many others.At a meeting of the Bayou DeSiard greens committee Friday afternoon. Maxwell entered into a contract with the club. Work will begin on the course as soon as thenew design is approved. The additional nine holes will be built in a heavilv wooded area adjoining the present course.
