Page instructed the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League last week it would have to declare a representative to meet British Columbia by Saturday or forfeit its right to continue in junior playoff competition.The SJHL attempted to circumvent the instructions by-agreeing to field a representative by Sunday, April 4 and offering New Westminster Royals, B.C. champions, financial compensation for delaying the western quarter-final series.Dr. Leo Margolis president of the B.C. Amateur Hockey Association, rejected the first SJHL offer of $1,000 and countered with a request for $8,000.In a telephone interview’ Wednesday, Page said both groups had accepted a recommenda tion that the matter of compensation be held in abeyance untilby the CAHA pending a decision.Page said the Saskatchewan-B.C. series now will start in New Westminster April 4. The second game will be in New Westminster Monday.
