185 County High Players Enter ScorinBothen Leads With 24.5 Average; KellBy GENE HOWARDOut of 185 scorers from 35 high schools in Butler County only four managed to register over 400 points during the recent cage sea-son with Catholic's Jim Bothen in the lead with 467. Next in line was Glen Barker, of Middletown, with 432 followed by Eugene Kelly, of Trenton, at 428 and Mike Herr, of Middletown Fenwick, with 412.For the second straight year Bothen led in per game average with a 24.5 clip and Kelley was second with a 21.4. Two others finished in the 20 plus class with Ken Rose, of Oxford-Talawanda, at 20.8* and Fairfield’s JerryOberdorf at 20.1.Taft’s two leading scorers JimPatterson and Rich Burton werelOtih and 1 Ith with 16.6 and 36.3 averages respectively. Dwight Skipper, of Garfield, was 13th with a 15.6 mark.In the free throw department only three went over 100 with Bothen getting 141, Burton 111, and Skipper, 102.
