CROSS OUTBOXED IN A FIERCE FIGHTNew York, N. Y, March 23.— Packey McFarland, the Chicago lightweight boxer, defeated Leach Cross of this iclty at the Fairmount Athletic club tonight. The boys weighed in at 135 pounds. In the majority of the rounds McFarland had a decided advantage. They fought fiercely during the last three rounds and at the final clang of the bell both were struggling all over the ring, each trying to put over a knock out.Cross made a better showing than in his previous bout with the Chicagoan, but the visitor had-the call at nearly every stage of the game.
