Friday, March 23, 1956OAK HARBOR ITEMSO-H Basketball Team IsFeted By Boosters ClubNews’ Staff Correspondent Paul Shoup and Dick Tettau, both seniors, were named honorary co-captains when the 1955-56 basketball team of Salem-Oak Harbor High school were honored by the Boosters Club with their annual banquet, Thursday night. Guest speaker for the evening was Grant Kibbel* a graduate of Oak Harbor and now basketball coach at Cleveland Shaw highschool. Paul R. Lockwood, toastmaster was introduced by Booster president Stanley Mylander.Receiving their letters were: Seniors: Kevin Schiller, Tom Tilton, Shoup and Tettau; Juniors: Gary Baldwin. Neil Meinke, RichardDcfwitz, Dick El wing. Boh Szako-vitz, Dave St. Clair; and sophomore. Klwood Johns. Roger King and Wayne Dreier received letters as student managers.Numerals from the BoostersClub were given to Sophomores; David Baldwin. Chuck Dewitz, Wayne Noble. Dean Covert, Bob Libben, Willard Thorbahn, Chas. Moore, Malcolm Randall and Norman Witt; Juniors: Bob Flurv. Charles Casey. Dale Lieske, and Dennis Ohm. Jan Stuckey and Reggie Schultz, sophomores, received student manager’s numerals as did Junior Tom Bredehoft.Dick Tettau received a trophy as best foul shooter. John Erwin, head basketball coach presented the awards. Bernard Lutz is assistant basketball coach, and Paul Meunzer coaches freshman and Jr. high.Martin Warner, an employee of the Board of Education for more than 25 years was presented with a placque from the Boosters in commemoration of his many years of faithful service.
