Though Richard and Lopez sported gaudy numbers on the mound last season, it will be sophomore southpaw Michael Richard that will enter 2005 as the Irish ace after a stellar freshman year that produced a 7-0 record, 1.55 earned run average, and a remarkable 4-to-l strikeout-to-walk ratio (74 K’s, 18 BB’s).Other sophomores wearing green and gold will be utilityman Jake Moore, outfielder Bowe Ebding and pitcher/shortstop Aaron Reinland.“Bowe did a good job for us last summer,” Cox said. “He’ll be playing mostly with our jayvee team in the outfield. Jake Moore’s bat is going to be in the lineup somehow like Harri. Aaron Reinland will be playing in all of the jayvee games. (Michael’s) our ace. What can you say? He’s pretty gifted.”
