Bulldogs elect I975 co-cap fainsAnnouncement of the results of elections held last week for the* four co-captains of the TexasLutheran College Bulldogs was made toda by head football coach Jim Wacker,Elected to lead the 1974 NAIA Division II national champions in 1975 were tw seniors, Jerry Ellis and Robert Valdes and two juniors, Mike W ashington rnd Phi 1 Dunne.* In i ft»‘ ball ca reer.'' Coach Wacker stated. “ There can beno greater honor than to be elected by the teammates who know you best to lead them/* Ellis, 6-0, 215-pound offensive guard, is the son of Mr andMrs, Herbert Ellis of San Ber-nadino, Calii. A three-year starter, Ellis **is one of our finest offensive blockers,'* Wacker stated.• An outstanding blocker and receiver, Robert Valdez, 5-11, 195-pound tight end, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicolas Valdezof San Antoniowas one of the leading receivers in 1973 and1971, He also serves as one of the most crucial blockers in the veer offense.The Most Valuable Player in 1974, Mike Washington, 5-10, 170-pound quarterback is the son of Mr, and Mrs, lyiwienceSaturday, March 22Washington of Austin.Washington has also attained the honors of All-NAIA as well as second team \ll-American. In 1974 Washington was the Bulldog's leading rusher and scorer, “He's one of the finest option quarterbacks in the ration, added Coach Wacker,The Bulldog leader inquarterback sacks is 6-2, 220-pound defensive taekk1 Phil Dunne.
