When the green flag drops at the South Boston Speedway Sunday for the 300-lap national championship late model sportsman race, Richmond is assured of having three top competitors in the field. Left to right above are Ray Hendrick, Runt Harris and SonnyHutchins. Hendrick is the South Boston Raceway modified racing champion and either Ray or one of his Richmond rivals stand a good chance to claim the checkered flag when the day’s running is completed.
