I want to know all the facts.”Ziegler said the U.S. Olympic Committee estimates that the NHL gave the U.S. team$350,000.“That total covers everything... exhibition gamerevenues, officiating costs, direct and indirect subsidies,”he said“I haven’t totalled the figures up and compared them and, sure, in certain respects, maybe in total dollars, the teams didn’t get the same. If the Canadians feel they have been treated unfairly, I hope they let it be known.”Lefaive said Canada’s amateur hockey programs supply many players to the NHL. Hemately 420 NHL players were bom in the U.S. while about 350 were bom in Canada. But Ziegler countered: “It’sownership, not the players, who have lent their support, so it’s difficult to argue on why 15 owners of teams based in the U.S. should turn their undivided attention to the Canadian Olympic team. I don’t think it’s natural to assume that their contributions should be proportionate.”said only 40 of the approxi-Roughies sign threeREGINA (CP) — Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today the signing of two Canadian Football League veterans and a rookie offensive tackle from the University of Alabama.Willey Barnes, 24, was a starter with Alabama’s junior varsity in 1975 and n»e to the state’s national championship teams in 1978 and 1979.Steve Mazurak, a tight end, at 28 is an eight-year veteran of the Saskatchewan club.
