Valencia Whacks Huiiers forCoronaVictory►By HERB DAVID |Taking out their spite on three Corona hurlers, the Valencia Tigers slapped ^the * Panthers with their fifth consecutive non-league loss yesterday afternoon at City Park.It was an uphill battle all the way for Corona as the Tigers broke' a two-all tie with a trio of runs in the third and then pushed across its winning tallios in the fifth and sixth.Bright spots in the Corona lineup were Wayne Knabe who enjoyed his second straight two for three day at the plate.and Dickie Del Castillo who extended his hitting streak to five games with an infield single.Miscucs riUftNot so bright were six Panther errors. All figured prominently in the Valencia scoring.The- Panthers take their 0-5 season slate to West Covina Thursday afternoon in a final tuneup before the La Puente Tournament next week. Hernandez walked but the two were left stranded when Steve Allen, Louitf Cervantes and Frank Bazooka went down cn strikes.In the fourth Hernandez found himself in more trouble after an error, a walk and three singles. Three runs wore in when Danny Garcia took over .the mound chores. He issued another pass then fanned the opposing hurler, Jack McDermott, to end the inning.Corona produced another run in the fourth when Cervantes tripled in Garcia who had been hit by a pitch. But two runs crossed the plate in the fifth for Valencia on a ground rule double, three walks and a bloopc-r single to center.
