Cole, Miller, H organ.“The Maidens” /T,HE GIRLS whose “fair countenances” are shown above are the “Basketball Maidens” of Postvillc High, and they, like the boys, are well deserving of their place, on this page. They played hard throughout the season and only lost two out of eleven games played. The girls also received rewards for their reason’s work and these also are in two divisions, a banquet being served by the business men and the award of a‘letter from the school as a token of material importance,for their services and excellent ability of representing this school and town on the girls' basketball court. Although only seven of the girls were fortunate enough to receive a letter for their season’s work the others deserve memorable recognition for their help and work also. The girls to win award letters this year are Capt. Vera Cole, forward; Amy Miller, forward; Loretta Horgan, R. center; Esther Deeving, center; Anna Hangartner, guard; Gretchen Hangartner, guard and Marie Ever man, forward, all of whom are more than deserving of the honor, as we have seen them display their ability on the hard court. The other girls who were not so fortunate to be able to boast of a letter but deserve other creditable honors for their services are Prances Casten, guard; Helen Wegner, guard; Bessie Brooks, R. center; Romelda Gass, center.
