BUD GRACE, who gained lasting fame in this area as a member of the legendary Bald Headed Nine, has been dead for five years but his many friends at Sun Oil and in Buckman Village and Village Green will be pleased to learn that his son, Robert S. Grace, has become engag ed to Miss Mary Elise Kaekel of Holmes Beach, Fla. Young Grace is a graduate of Flori da State U. from where he was graduated in 1985. Of 1, 224 seniors he was one of only 35,who graduated “with hon ors. He received a National Sciene Foundation in Physics and is continuing his studies at FSU ... The late Bud Grace is remembered as one of the roughest, toughest men ever to play on local gridirons. He not only never wore a hel met, but he always played the entire season in soccer pants . Bud's nephew is Hugh L. (Rip) Flood, the construction tycoon who played his ‘foot ball under Babe Buono at Ches ter High away back in the Forties . DAVE LABOSKY, former Springfield High sports star, is off to a great start at the University of Pennsylvania. He starred on the Quakers’ freshman football team last fall and this winter he com piled a 5-0 record as a 191- pounder on the yearling wrest ling team. His mat victories in cluded two pins and three shutouts, the final one in the heavyweight class. Coach Don Frey feels Labosky, a regional wrestling champ while at Springfield, has the Potential to be one of the fin est Penn mat men in years... David Kennard, Darby - Col wyn grad who glittered for Cheyney State against LSU in the small college tourna ment, has been rewarded by a berth on the All- Tourna ment team along with Al bright'’s Mike Klahr and three LSU stars — MVP Barry Leib owitz, Albie Frant and Larry Newbold . . .
