March 12, 1938 R. F. D. No. 1 Manitowoc, Wis. Editor of the Manitowoc-Herafd, Manitowoc. W i sc on sin Dear Sir:I see in Thursday’s paper that :he next wrestling match will be setween Duke Ruppenthal and ~ouis Kodrick without a referee, rhat might be nice for some people. but for the average run of hu-nan beings it seems to me that ►uch a match is going too far. and -till be able to call ourselves Hunan beings. There is no love lost letween these two men, and it will lot be a wrestling match, but a irudge fight, the looser taking any hing and everything the other hoses to give him regardless of onsequences. When a referee is here, he at leaft can stop too nuch unfair (so called) wrestling.Cock fighting is forbidden by aw, and, if a man goes downtown vith a horse and' hits the horse, the lumanc Society is on his neck and e pays a stiff fine with his name eld up for shame. Here, two hu-*ian beings are savagely clawing t each other, but everything is ne and dandy. Where oh where s our watchful Humane Society, or n't it in existance anymore?I enjoy wrestling and go to all le matches, and while I do not iind some rough stuff, it seems to e that if this should be a fair ght on both sides, there should e a referee in there. Rules should e rigid and kept. Have them real-wrestle. When one forgets the jles he should have to forfeit the latch. Perhaps there would then e a clean and satisfying outcome s to who is the better of the twoetiYours TrulyWrestling Fin”
