It will be the first trip Coach Bob Douglas’ Blue Hawks have ever made to the State Tournament.In the play at Morgantown the Hawks will oppose Parsons, 68-66 winner over Monongah in the Region 2 title tussle. The game is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Thursday night, Ceredo-Kenova and Warwood clash in the Thursday opener at 7:30 p.m. and the winners meet at 3 p.m. Saturday for the state championship.Mullens, which finished the year with a 19-5 record, had knocked off Sophia’s only conqueror, Pineville, in sectional play last week. The Rebels were pre-tournament favorites here and started off as if they would live up to that rating.The Rebels led most of the first quarter until Sophia finally tied it at 22-22 with 30 seconds to go in the opening period. The Hawks added four more points to take a 26-22 first quarter lead and never trailed thereafter, although it was close throughout the first half, which ended with Sophia ahead 43-36.Mullens, whose high-scoring Ken Logwood was charged with three personal fouls in the first quarter and didn’t play in the second period, just couldn’t find the hoop in the third period.They did manage to make eight free throws but by that time Sophia had pulled to a 13-point advantage at 57-44.The Rebels, with Lon wood
