Dan Gray keeps moving alongBy ED NOGAWESTERVILLE — Black River’s Dan Gray is alive and well and still pursuing a 175-pound wrestling championship in the Ohio Class A’ tournament at Otterbein College.Gray showed the stuff that | made him the fourth best wrestler in his class last year by r beating Barry Nolan ofNewcomerstown 13-3. Nolan was undefeated in 18 contests going n into the match.5 Gray now sports a 20-1record. He will face Mike Nesser of Plymouth in second round action today.I'THE BLACK RIVER senior started slowly and was down 3-1* at one time, but was leading 4-3 at the end of the first period.»• In the final two periods GrayIS slapped Nolan around building a 6-3 and then an 8-3 lead on a reversal. Twice he almost pinned Nolan in the last two periods.Black River coach Dave Khoury said it was a typical , Gray match.* “HE ALWAYS seems to■ have a little trouble in the firstperiod, and comes on strong in the last two periods, If he can stay loose, in the beginning he has a good chance against anyone.Richmond Heights is leading the tournament with 15 points and Middlefield CardinalDAN GRAYhas 14. All the 13 wrestlers from the two schools won their contests.
