Walton’s victory over the Morristown team was a significant one and the Cass men are figured as strong contenders in the semi-finals and finals today.To win the state championship the Waltonites must defeat Valparaiso this morning, win a game In the semifinals this afternoon and take the de-•cidlng game tonight which will he played between the two teams qualifying during the day's games. Twelve teams are struggling for the state honors and all of them are strong organizations.The twelve teams which started in the tourney are as follows: Morris-town, New Albany, Rochester, Bluff-toh, Anderson, Crawfordsville, Lebanon, Valparaiso, Lafayette, Oaktown, Evansville and Walton. The state wasdivided into the twelve districts and: ■***•* .these teams were selected tas the champions of their respective districts.The six games yesterday eliminated six teams. , Three games this morningwill put three more out of the race.. «. * ••and the semi-finals this afternoon will settle on which teams play the deciding game at night. The final contest will be pu t on as a preliminary for the Indiana-Northwestern game. Valparaiso and Lebanon played a preliminary for the Indiana-Northwestern game last night.Bob Harris, a former Maroon star, lt;and Indiana coach, is refereeing the championship games with Burt West-over, former Purdue player as umpire.
