Lewiston, Maine.• • *Forward Chris Hufihey scored 22 points as Fredonia State defeated Hamilton College. 90-82, and captured the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Upstate New York championship in Clinton.The tournament marked the first playoff appearance in 10 years for Fredonia Stale, 16-9 overall and 18-7 in Division IU. Hamilton had won the title for the last four years.Fredonia placed four players in double figures — forward Tom Cappelietti (East Syracusc-Minoa High School) scored 20 points, forward Joe Sorochin had 15 and guard Fred Thompson netted 14.Hamilton's 6-foot-7 center Larry Kollatb (West Genesee High School) led all players with 25points.The loss broke Hamilton's 58-game home-court winning streak.Hughey was named tournament most valuable player.St. Lawrence University finished in 14th place and Cornell University ended up 18th In theNCAA skiing championship at Bozeman, Monl.
