CH Girls’ Rally Comes Too LateEMPORIA - A valiant comeback in the final quarter was too little, too late for the Central Heights girls here Wednesday as their first-ever venture to the stale 2-A basketball tournament was halted in the first round by Cimarron, 49-37.Cimarron, a winner now in 22 of its 23 games this season, jumped out to a big lead over the jittery Viking gals, marching to a 25-15 halftime margin and then out-scoring CH 16-4 in the crucial third stanza.Then in a belated rally, the Vikes ran off 18 points down thea i .1. i. in nrtkdte rffwasn’t enough.Before both fouled out, Sheryl Neblock and Kem Strobel led the CH cause and finished with 13 and 9 points respectively. Melody Myers and Tammy Cox added 6 apiece.Free throws turned out to be a critical shortcoming for the Vikes.
