It locks as if the weather U will prolong the battle. Visiting | orinks are there from Binscarth, j n Silverton, Endcliffe, Shellmouth,Dropmore and Russell, the latter with five skipped by Jim Craig. During the weekend postponed clubmatches were played to decide who would win the variousIigroups and when the two top rinks play off in each for the club championship draw- will be made. •EC14tII!OFVc a rLADY CURLERS ACTIVE , JSome of the Russell ladies had an overabundance of curling last week. Hardly were they back home from the Roblin ’spiel when two rinks were off to a Royal Purple competition at Gladstone. And apparently they were in tcp form because they downed the Gladstone rinks 11-4 and 11-7 and brought home the trophy, which is still up for competition and is waiting for a challenger. The Gladstone rink had previously won it from Portage. Taking partin this curling competition wereMis. Nita Lewis, Mrs. R. S, Clement, Mrs. D. Deschamps, Mrs. M. Didur, and Mrs. R. Kennedy, Mrs. Ross Kieper, Mrs. W. H. Schwalm and Mrs. Harold Jacobsen.Roblin results were fairly satis-saMy‘ittc,1cVlt;iffactory too and everyone reports a) treal good time. Two of the rinks, Mrs. G. Bicknell’s and Mrs. NitatfLewis’ brought home prizes. Mrs. Bicknell’s won lamps for fourth in the Second event, being knocked out by Mrs. Kelso of Roblin in the semi-finals. They had two extra end games. Mrs. Lewis took second prize in the Consolation event. They lost out in two events going into the fours. Their prizes were teapots, Mrs. Adolphe’s and Mrs. R.
