REAI)V FOR THE GAMESBaltimore Athletic C'lnh And St.Lro'i At Fifth Armory.Ye*terday w«* the last day of hard training for the athletes at the Fifth Regiment Armory, where tonight the Amateur I Athletic I’nion athletes will contest in the big meet of the Baltimore Athletic Club and St. Leo's Gymnasium. A swarin of them, from yonng boys of the schools to the sturdy college students and club men, have been hard at work and today they will all take a rest. The men are in thepink of condition and the managers look for some broken records, particularly as the fast crowd of runners from Washington are expected to put the local boys on their mettle.The track at the Fifth Regiment Armory is the largest indoor track in the city. It was announced yesterday that It had beenenlarged to 17*4 •“P* to the mile with larger turns, and this will bring out the bestspeed.Capt. Geo. E. Lamb, who is clerk of the course, and his assistants, Messrs. Gaynor and Valentin!, of 8t. Leo's, and Mr. Z. M. Ballard, of Johns Hopkins, last night laid out plans for running off the games in quick 8Ult;Tosslon. The 40-yard dash on the six-lane track will be run in seven hents.I They will endeavor to run the heats off before 8 o’clock and let the finals follow later.
