Hager was a two-time All-Southwest Conference choice at Texas, and was the Eagles’ third-round draft choice in 1989.■ Mlaml-CFL: The Canadian Football League could be playing at Miami’s Orange Bowl beginning next year.A group led by Chicago real estate investor Bruce Frey of Palm Beach Gardens is seeking a CFL expansion team.“We’re confident it will happen,” Frey said.The team would be known as the Miami Manatees. A portion of every ticket would go to a fund to help save Florida’s manatees, Frey said.South Florida investors would pay the $3 million franchise fee and spend nearly $10 million to field a team in 1996. The team would need to draw at least 20,000 fans per game to break even, Frey said.Negotiations with the Orange Bowl are under way.Frey headed failed bids to buy the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
