Monmouth Academy picks DeBlois basketball coachMONMOUTH — W i n t h r o p native Jeff DeBlois has been named new varsity basketball coach at Monmouth Academy.It was learned Thursday from Prin. Ronald Moody that former coach Dave Heckman, has resigned the coaching job hut will remain at the school as a faculty member, assistant athletic director and coach of tennis. Heckman had mentored the basketball team for six years.DeBlois, a Winthrop High graduate, also a graduate of Gorham State College, has a rich basketball background. While at Winthrop he was a member of the 1965 state Class B championship team, also lettered as a varsity player atGorham. He also lettered In football and baseball at jWin-throp. He has been a Mortmouth faculty member four years, was assistant footbaU coach and junior varsity bask^ball coach.DeBlois takes' a Monmouth team that was 0-18 this season. He plans to install a building prygram to cultivate the skills I of players.-
