Howard Dunning - iead.The annual Munro Trophy Bonspiel that has been a yearly event for 26 years was once again a major event for curlers of 65 and over. Curling started last Monday. February' 26 with Doc Fulford opening the spiel by throwing the first rock. By ‘the way. of the original 65+ Munro Trophy spiel members, just two remain - they are “Doc” Fulford and Vic Walker. Vic is still curling but “Doc” has had to quit, due to this health. After two draws on Monday, allparticipants gathered at theLegion Hall for a lovelysupper prepared and served by Hilda Jenkins. Marg Reich. Cora Hill, JeanHanke. Doreen Armstrong. Polly Laidlaw and Beth Sangster. During the meeting that followed the supper George Lancaster, on behalf of all present, thanked the ladies for the lovely supper which he says gets better every' year. Yes there will be another spiel next year.During the meeting it was unanimously agreed to donate S50 to the Bows manLegion who donate the use of the hall and $50.00 to theBow sman Curling Gub who donate the use of the ice. Howard Jenkins was re elected as was Charlie Eggleston as secretary. The executive of Vic Walker. George Hanke. O. Brandson. Don Laidlaw and Bud Fraser were also re-elected.Oldest curler in the spiel was Vic Walker and theyoungest w'as Frank Fletcher. Visitors from various towns and country' pointsexpressed their thanks to be able to once again join in with fellow curlers to compete for the Munro Trophy. Curling resumed Monday-night and again Tuesday and by 3:30. finalists were decided and were out on the ice to decide the victors, v In the 1st Event for the Munro Trophy the rink of Charlie Brandson. IrwinHoward Dunning and Howard Dunning won over therink of John McLeod. The rink of Carl Cook, Calvin Mullin, Jack Kirkpatrick and Norman Brading took home the trophies by winning over the rink of Art Sangster. So again ends, another two days of curling and renewed friendships of curlers of 65 years and older.Behrmann, D. Harness and
