maze at eaiterd Biltweli FGENEVA (CP '—An unidentified Swiss radio official has cost the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association $900,The official mistakenly told members of the Trail Smoke Eaters, Canadian representatives at the world hockey championships, that a percentage of : money paid for TV rights to tournament games would be given to the teams—with the Smokies' share amounting to $1,300.The gleeful Smokies went on a spending spree, in anticipation.! then found out from CAHA president Jack Roxburgh that the money actually was destined for the association’s treasury.However, Roxburgh decided to make it up to them and gave each player S50-—a total of $900. j ‘‘It was my decision and mine alone,” he said, I will have to answer to the CAHA when I return to Canada. I want to make it absolutely clear that ihe teamdid not hold me up for the money and I'm confident thev would play their hearts out without getting this money.”
