15 Appointed ToFitness CouncilOTTAWA . (CP)—Rev. David Bauer, . coach of Canada’s 1964 Olympic hockey team/ was among 15 men and women whose appointments to the national advisory council on fitness and amateur sports were announced Thursday by Health Minister Judy LaMarsh.Also among the new appointees was Dr. William A. R. Orban, of Saskatoon who played a prominent part in the development of the RCAF’s 5BX and 10 BX programs.The new appointees:Earle Nicholson, Charlottetown, director of physical education, Prince of Wales College.Mary Barker, Ingonisb, N.S., former director of health and physical education for the YWCA’s national council.Morris M. Broker, Montreal, past-president of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada and the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation.Robert LeBel, Ft. Chambley, Que., president of the North American division of the International Ice Hockey Federation.John W. Davies, Montreal, president of the British Empire and Commonwealth Games As-socation of Canada.Dr. Paul Hauch, London, secretary of the Canadian Amateur Swimming Association and chairman of the .sport medicine committee of the Canadian Olympic Association.Jack L. Edwards, Kingston; director of the Ontario - Golf Association.Paul H. Traynor, Hamilton, director of the Catholic Youth Organization for the Hamilton diocese and the Hamilton Minor Football Association.Dr,. Max Avren, Winnipeg, a volunteer, committee chairman for the Canadian Red Cross Society,Dr. Maary Van Vliet, Edmonton, director of the University of Alberta’s physical education school.Mrs. May Brown, Vancouver, a physical education teacher and prominent member of theCanadian Camping Association and the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, .Two members of the council were re*appointed—Rev. Mar-cel de la Sablonnicre, Montreal,-executive director of the recreation centre of the Immaculate Conception and James Wortall, Toronto, president of the Cana* dian Olympic Association..:..,The reconstituted council will meet here March 9 and 10 to plan the year’s fitness and amateur sport program.
