La Salle's “Ui VisitLa Salle of Philadelphia, twice an ESCIT titlist, will be making its seventh Newport appearance. St. John's has played in four past tournaments and All Hallows in three. Vincentian Institute cf wl-bany played in the .first Newport-staged ESCIT back m 1938 when it; undefeated status was spoiled by clvimpicn St. Peter’s of New Brunswick, N. J.. 27-13. . .Onlv ESCIT newcomer is St. Lucy's, a club highly recommended bv Joe Mack, former De La Salle coach, Ormond Spencer, Syracuse star, is considered one of the nation's stand-out schoolboy cagers bv Al Cervie, conch of the National ‘ Basketball Association's Syracuse Nationals. .St. Peter’s status is complicated, by a national association rule which bars member schools from participating in tournaments after March 20, There is some hope, however, that an exception will be made in St:. Peter’s case.Five of the tournament s six officials have been named. They are Lester Fuchs, North Bergan. N. J.; George Licitra, Saddle River, Township, N. J.: Dick Roberts, Framingham, Mass.; Tony AgatieiJo. Bristol. R. I., and Vicker Di Cravio. North Weymouth. Mass. For the twelfth year George H, Hoyt of Doreester, Mass., will he the chief official.
