S. last night with a victory for Cutler and Murphysboro. The Uutler-Grand Tower game was evenly matched though Cutler proved to be the best scorer. Cutlerled by about five points in the .first quarter. In the second, however, Grand Tower sped up and brought the score to a tie, seven all. They were unable to maintain this pace however, and the game ended 23-18 for Cutler.The Red Devils took an easy victory from Gorham by a score of 38-12. All but two of Gorham s points were made on free throws. Murphy proved entirely too much for the Gorham quint, who could only stand beneath Murphy’s basket frantically: trying to guard them.
