YANGER-BROAD GO A DRAW.Italian Lad Leads for the First ThreeRounds.Chicago, Mar. 4— Benny Yanger of Chicago ami “Kid” Broad of Cleveland fought six hard rounds to a draw in the wind-up of the American Athletic Club's boxing show last nightIt was one of the hardest bouts between little fellows seen in Chicago in some time, with the Slasher” apparently having a slight shade on the milling. although Referee Hogan’s decision was fairly well received by the crowd.Yanger had decidedly the better of the argument for the first three rounds but Broad improved and showed to better advantage in the final three.Yanger Leads at First. The first round was all Yanger*s. The little Italian forced the fighting throughout, leading a straight left to the body and following it with a right to the same place. The Chicagoan kept up a continual play on Broad amidships and the latter failed to land a good blow throughout the period.rne second round went the- sameway. Yanger continued his play for the body, with an occasional left lead to the face. It was clearly the Italian’s round.Broad appeared to a little better advantage in the third, landing a strong right on Yanger's jaw. but the local lad continued his tattoo on the body of his opponent and kept a good lead.“Kid” Broad Improves. The Cleveland lad showed considerable improvement In the fourth. He began hitting better and got in several good blows to Yanger’s face and body. The fifth was a repetition of the fourth. Broad was fighting better and scored rather often, but Yanger kept coming in and the fighting seemed fairly even.Early in the sixth! round Broad caught Yanger with a straight right to the jaw which forced the “Slasher” to slow up a bit and hang on for a while.During the latter part of the round, however the local lad recovered his form and finished strong. The decision of a draw was fairly well received, although some of the experts were inclined to give Yanger a shade. Both of the fighters •weighed in at o'clock within the limit of 125 poundsand both appeared strong at the figure although Broad looked a little drawn.
