The Hawks (9-18, 5-5) garnered as many spots as Central champion Tinley Park.The good news for the Hawks, which lost to Homewood-Flossmoor in the Rich Central regional title game, is that two of the selections are juniors. Senior Carole Clemons joins juniors Julie Bubeck and Sharon Richardson as the Hawks’ representatives.Sweet 16 qualifier Marian Catholic (21-8) placed a pair of players on the Girls Catholic Athletic conference South division team. Senior Jean Skarzynski made the squad, as well as junior standout Karol Woodward. Woodward was also selected to the GCAC all-league teamKANKAKEE VALLEY champion Beecher (20-3) turned in a great season on the strength of standout guard-forward Lori Bakhaus Guard Lyn Kurth was a second-team all-KVC selection for the Bobcats, while sophomore Kelly Harless received honorable mention.Although Crete-Monee won the SICA South with an 8-2 mark, the Warriors (19-6) earned just two spots on the all-league team. Michelle Davis, who is bound for North Carolina-Charlotte, was the South’s second-leading vote getter behind Kankakeestar Grace Johnson. Warrior teammate Cathy Phason also made the squad.Also in SICA South, Rich Central and Rich East each placed one player on the SICA South team. The Olympians (5-5 in SICA South) earned spots with senior Betty Hawkins and junior Angie CoglianeseRich East (3-7 in SICA South) is represented by senior Jolie Keys and junior Cherie Palfenier. Rich South (1-9) failed to earn a spot on the SICA South team, but junior guard Kissy Davis received honorable mention consideration.BLOOM AND H-F each placed two players on the SICA East allconference squad. The Trojans (13-12, 8-4) are represented by senior standout Demetrice Torand and junior La-Donna Blevins.The Vikings, which took the RC regional by surprise to finish with a 7-19 record, put senior Cindy Bronson on the SICA East team as a repeater. She was joined by sophomore forward Megan Mulcahey Although Bloom Trail finished 0-12 in SICA East play, junior Lisa McCormick earned a spot on the all-conference team.Also in SICA East, runner-up Thornwood notched three spots on the all-league team.
