But the Brothers had just one thing on their minds, earning a trip to the regionals m Plattsburgh on Saturday.CBA used teamwork and concentration to overcome La-Fayette, 5-15, 15-12, 15-10,9-15, 15-2, in an exhausting contest, The Brothers, who played the first game of the match as tf their feet were glued to the floor, bounced back in the second and third games behind the leadership of senior Ashlee Easterly. Easterly finished with three aces, two blocks, and 12 kills.“I think wc came out nervous,” CBA head coach Greg Jewiu said. “LaFayette has been playing in these games for years and years. This was our first time. But we had to get focused. I told them to just go out and play our game.”The Brothers exacted a bit ofrevenge with the win. In December, the two teams were tied J-l in the fifth game when the lights went out m the LaFayette gym. The Lancers won the makeup match in three games.The momentum in Wednesday's game shifted constantly. Losing the fourth game brought tears and grimaces to the CBA players' faces, but they never lost their concentration. Kim Connors (15 kills) and Liz Pagano (14 kills) continued to attack the Lancers’ laller front line.“It’s hard to pick yourself lip,” said Danni Fcdcrico, who had 41 assists for CBA. “But,we’ve never gotten this far before so we just wanted to play our hardest ” Unforced errors and defense in the back row became problems for the Lancers in the final game.“We were hesitating in the back row,” LaFayette head coach Kris Temllion said. “We were together out there but we weren’t as smooth as we normally arc. But they played very heroically out there. They didn’t give up.”Senior Blaine Bajjaly, whowore a protective brace on her ankle and iced it down between shifts, hurled herself after every loose ball, digging up returns inches from the floor. Wallace and Kowalski also never quit working. The pair put down 32 kills and six blocks. Jewitt praised Tcrrilhon and her team.They're unbelievable,” jfew-itt said. “They reflect their coach. They never give up a point. They never give up a play. Thai’s someihmg that we've aspired to be.”
