Sigurdson returns as FP sports editorHal Sigurdson, assistant sports editor and hockey writer ior The Vancouver Sun, has been appointed sports editor of the Winnipeg Free Press.He succeeds Maurice Smith, who retires March 27 after 44 years with the newspaper.Mr. Sigurdson, 43, a na-t i v e of Churchbndge,Sask., began his distin-g u i s h e d career as a sports writer with The Free Press in 1951 and was reporting on football when he left in 1963 to become sports editor of the Calgary Albertan.
