Veteran Given ‘PointersBy Moyer,Rookie PitcherHOT SPRINGS Ark., March l.—VP) — Art Shires, the loquacious baseball player, had better look to his orallaurels because George Moyer is headed for the big leagues.Moyer, a visitor at the baseballschool here, admitted he was just one of Connie Mack’s rookie pitchers, but explained he is an exceptional prospect and that he contemplatedwinning 30 games for the Athleticsthis season.After he stated he thought DizzyDean, a member of the school’s faculty and a National league pitcher, was a “fair” hurler and that Burleigh Grimes couldn’t show him a thing about pitching, Moyer was asked to demonstrate his ability.‘How' do you throw your curve ball?” asked Ray Doan, director of the school.Moyer grabbed a ball, hooked his long, lean fingers around the horse-hidc and defied members of the school to take it from his grasp.
