Hangman Ellis has been engaged by Sheriff Paxton, and the same type of gallows as used in Peterboro will be erected. They will be situated in the north side of the jail wall in the corner of the men's yard, whichis separated by a brick wall from the women's enclosure. The scaffold will be the regulation 12 feet in height, and will have a seven-foot ({drop. Erection of the gallows willi commence on the Honday previous j to the execution.
