Steinbach wins shootist crownBy Bob Mayer Intelligencer Outdoor Writer Bucks County’s Sally Steinbach is still “Floating on cloud nine,’ a week after she captured the Pennsylvania Lady Handicap Champion trapshooting title. Sally posted a 98x100 score in the 89th Annual Pennsylvania State Trapshooting Championships, held at the Valley Gun and Country Club. Eiysburg. Steinbach was tied for the highest score of the 1,544 entries in the handicap event.'Tve be shooting trap since 1970 and this was the first time I’ve ever posted a 98x100 score/ she noted. This is, without a doubt, the biggest thrill of my trapshooting career/ she continued.T came very close to winning the overall handicap championship with my 98x100 score, but I had to use a shotgun in the shoot-off that I was not familar with, due to a malfunction in my regular shotgun, ’ she noted.Steinbach, a resident of Turk Road. Doylestown Township, has participated in the state championship shoot for ten consecutive years. Sally's husband, Harry, is an avid trapshooter but has taken a back seat to his wife's high scores recently. “I'm really proud that Sally shot so well in the state shoot/ he stated.John Brown.
