Barney Furey, one of the best known welter-weights In this country, arrived in Philadelphia yesterday. He has tiftveled all over the West, having been boxing for about eight years. Furey Is in good condition and says his business here la to get the scalp of Harry Lewis, Jack Blackburn, Willie Fitzgerald and every other Eastern welter-weight who can be secured to meet him. He la willing to put up a forfeit of 1600 or 11,000 to meet any welter-weight in the East. Jtyrey at one time made his home in Trenton and we* known as Kid” Murphy.
